When it comes to designing, commissioning or making your own fursuit, you'll likely need to choose whether you want your suit to be digitigrade, or plantigrade.
Digitigrade
Digitigrade usually focuses on replicating the shape of a real animal's legs; this design usually puts appearance before comfort, due to the natural hind leg structure. Using this technique can be uncomfortable!

Plantigrade
Plantigrade is what humans naturally are; the foot is flat, and no padding is placed around the leg in an attempt to mimic the shape of the animal you're fursuiting as. As this keeps your body in it's natural position, comfort is placed first. This technique can look just as good as digitigrade, if done properly.

ReplyDeleteNo it cannot. A digitigrade suit's legs are bigger than a plantigrade suit so if you were to try to make a plantigrade suit have digigrade legs you would, more likely than not, either have to get a whole new suit or remove the plantigrade legs, make digigrade legs, then attach those legs to the suit through sowing. So you will have to make up your mind before avtually getting a suit.
ReplyDeleteWhich would be better? I am wondering which kind I would like to consider for the future.
ReplyDeleteIt all depends on your species and if you'd prefer comfort over looks or looks over comfort.
DeleteSpot lets start work on this write-up, I honestly feel this web site needs considerably more consideration. I’ll probably be again to see considerably more, thank you that info. Fursuit partial
