DreamVisionCreations

DreamVision Creations
DreamVision Creations is a fursuit site by Ciara and Monoyasha. DVC is quite well-known in the furry community for their designs and creations. They create and sell some impressive fursuiting items, such as custom resin blanks and jawsets, and their webstore too offers plenty of parts needed for fursuiting at a good price.

They used to create full fursuits; however, they have since retired from that aspect of fursuiting. However, they do still provide a lot of necessary items needed for fursuiting, such as high-quality and custom-designed pawpads, noses, jawsets, LED eyes/claws, resin and silicone eyes, and much more!

Visit their webstore to see the complete range here!

Character Reference Sheets

If you're planning on commissioning a fursuit, it's highly likely you're going to be asked for a Character Reference Sheet. These are often used to show the design of the character, and are particularly useful on illustrating the final design of the fursuit.

They're also useful if you're not too sure on how you want your character to look - you can experiment with colours and patterns before commissioning or making your own fursuit, saving money in the longrun (because you don't want to buy something, then realise you're not going to use it, do you?).

For soon-to-be furries, don't worry if you're not the artistic type and can't draw very well - there are quite a few, free templates and linearts available from members of the furry community to use.

If you're doing a canine or feline character, be sure to visit Piranha Petting Zoo Productions - they have a great selection of fursuit and quad fursuit linearts available!

Fursuits: Digitigrade VS Plantigrade

When it comes to designing, commissioning or making your own fursuit, you'll likely need to choose whether you want your suit to be digitigrade, or plantigrade.

Digitigrade
Digitigrade usually focuses on replicating the shape of a real animal's legs; this design usually puts appearance before comfort, due to the natural hind leg structure. Using this technique can be uncomfortable!

Plantigrade
Plantigrade is what humans naturally are; the foot is flat, and no padding is placed around the leg in an attempt to mimic the shape of the animal you're fursuiting as. As this keeps your body in it's natural position, comfort is placed first. This technique can look just as good as digitigrade, if done properly.

The Furry Fandom (or How I Got Hijacked By The Furries).

Hello! You can call me Kit (Kyuubi), and find me frequenting the AnimeLeague forums, LiveJournal and the fursuiting community on DeviantArt under the name MewMewToYou.

This blog will address all things in the furry fandom, from conventions and gathering to creating or designing your own fursuit.

But first, let's answer a few questions you may have...

Q: What's a Furry?
A: The term 'Furry' refers to, other than the obvious, a person who enjoys cosplaying in a fursuit at conventions or gatherings. You can often spot a Furry a mile off; it's likely they'll be wearing something furry and anima-related that stands out from the crowd, whether they're sporting a tail, or wearing a wolf-ear hat.

Q: Fursuit? A suit made of fur?!
A: Fursuit is the name given to the outfit (not always including the head!) that usually has an exterior of faux fur, hence 'fursuit'. Fursuits can be split into two categories; Partials, and Full. Full fursuits include the upper and lower body, armpaws, feetpaws, head and tail. Partials usually consist of a tail, armpaws and ears.

Q: Is a Fursuit different from a Quadsuit?
A: There is a considerable difference, but this is mainly to do with the appearance. Fursuiting does not require you to walk on all fours like an animal; quadsuits, however, are designed with the intention of creating a realistic outfit that should be performed in similar ways to how the animal would, e.g. walking on all fours. A lot of people prefer fursuits, as they are generally more comfortable and easier to move around in,

Got any questions? Drop a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
That's all for now, but be sure to check back soon for more furry news!
